Yves Saint Laurent Mon Paris Review

Dia daoibh.
I sit here, typing away at my laptop smelling FABULOUS! Let me introduce to you, Yves Saint Laurent's latest addition - Mon Paris.

When it comes to reviewing perfumes, most likely each review you come across will read differently, as everyone has their own personal tastes.  Also bear in mind that your body's natural chemistry makes perfumes smell different from person to person, so best thing to do is to give it a sniff for yourself if you can.  It might be an odd way to describe a perfume, but to me, the first words that came to my head when I opened this fragrance was sweet flowers.  It reminds me of Miss Dior so if you're a fan of that, you'll most likely gravitate towards this.
Like I said, on on first spritz the perfume is sweetly, fruity but after it settles on the skin, it's rests slightly heavier, almost musky, which I love.  If you're one to separate your daytime perfumes from your night time perfumes, I would put this in the category of...... in between!! Perhaps leaning towards the day time. If you'd prefer specifics.... here they are:
  • Top Notes: - Raspberry, Strawberry, Calabrian Bergamot
  • Heart Notes: -  Datura, Peony, Chinese Jasmine, Jasmine Sambac Absolute
  • Base Notes: -  White Musk, Indonesian Patchouli, Guatemala Patchouly, Ambrox

In a word, this perfume smells beautiful.  It's right up my street.  Longevity wise, it lasted about 3-4 hours on my skin which, to be honest, I was a little disappointed with considering this is a eau de parfum (15-20% concentrate compared to that that of an eau de toilette which is typically around 10%). In saying that though, one spritz it quite highly fragranced so you don't need too many pumps for fragrance impact. One or two more spritzes and you're good to go again.
This fragrance smells expensive.  Again, this may sound silly but most people know a good quality perfume when they smell one.  Price wise, let's face it; we're talking about YSL here so this baby won't come too cheap. Prices start with the smaller sized 30ml bottle at €60, €81 for 50ml and €107 for 90ml.  Yes, this is on the higher scale but the chic, elegant packaging alone is to die for! Mon Paris is hitting Yves Saint Laurent counters nationwide now and is available online >HERE< with free delivery worldwide.
Overall I'm quite impressed and proudly display my Mon Paris on my perfume counter.

Slán!
