Dia daoibh!
So today's post is one from the vault!.... Well, that's a bit dramatic; perhaps six months ago! I came across a memory card I thought I had lost and found lots of products images I had ready for review on my blog. So, rather than letting them go to waste, I will share the products (that are all still available now) here. First up are up close pictures of the, sell-out, SoSu Hot Fire Palette.
Suzanne Jackson is one of Ireland's biggest beauty bloggers and beauty business women and this was her first eye shadow palette launch.  It retails for €29.95 and is available in pharmacies nationwide.  The palette itself is made from a sturdy board so it's not too heavy and I was delighted to see that it included a large mirror in the lid - always a plus.
The palette contains 12 eye shadows - 8 mattes and 4 shimmers, ranging from pale creams and champagnes to warm apricots and deep chocolate browns.  Here's a list of the colours:
.  Naked - Pale, matte cream
Heat - Soft pale peach
Spark - Rich warm brown
Ignite - Matte sandy ochre
Embers - Warm apricot
Pot of Gold - Burnished metallic gold
Iced - Shimmering buttermilk
Blaze - Metallic taupe
Flame - Shimmering copper
Depth - Matte cocoa
Copperlight - Warm chestnut
Smoked - Deep chocolate
Most of the shadows have great colour payoff and are quite pigmented with the exception of the darker shades surprisingly. These work better under the lash line rather than over the lid as I found them separating otherwise. Some of the eyeshadows do have a bit of fall out but most of them stay surprisingly pigmented.  The palette is Paraben Free, Cruelty Free and Vegan Friendly
Like I mentioned, the palette is still available from SoSue's website and from pharmacies nationwide. To buy online click >HERE< to get it for just €23.96 or >HERE< for €27.50 from Cloud10Beauty.

So I posted a sneak peek of the newly launched Luna By Lisa Liquid Eyeshadows to my Instagram and Facebook and you voted YES to a review, so let's get started!!
If you're new to Luna by Lisa Jordan, let me tell you a little about her.  Otherwise known as "Just Jordan", Lisa Jordan is a professional makeup artist and fashion & image consultant from Cork City.  She launched her beauty line ''Luna by Lisa" last September.  So far she has brought out a Lip Gloss collection, a leave in miracle hair treatment and her newest venture is with her liquid eyeshadows, which is what we will be taking a look at today.

Described as a "Liquid Pigment for everyone" the two liquid eyeshadows come together in one set priced at €25 - shades Rose Quartz and Midnight Onyx.  On first impression, I was a bit apprehensive as to how chunky the glitter looked in them, but nonetheless, I caved and picked them up!
MIDNIGHT ONYX is described as "A smoky midnight grey embellished with silver glitter, this sultry shade is perfect for adding drama to your look. Easy to wear and apply, Midnight Onyx will soon become your go-to shade for after dark".
ROSE QUARTZ is described as a "soft rose liquid pigment enhanced with ultimate shine and showstopping sparkle. An adaptable shade that works with any eye colour – wear Rose Quartz and shine bright every day.
Surprisingly, once I swatched the liquid eyeshadows they didn't feel as grainy as I had thought they might and the glitter was super sparkly.  These wouldn't be for a day to day look - more so for nights out! In the image above you can see that the liquid eyeshadows can be applied directly from the doe foot applicator (blend with a brush or your finger once it's on the lid) to work on their own, or layered over an eyeshadow.
The silver sparkles in Midnight Onyx did seem more chunky than the gold sparkles in Rose Quartz which blended down more evenly.  In certain lights, Midnight Onyx did look a little on the green side than the black/grey but this will depend on whether you apply it over a shadow or not.  Rose Quartz is definitely my favourite out of the two (sidenote: it's not rose gold in colour..... just gold!)

One word of advise though.  Don't layer this product, as it will break up. For testing purposes I applied one layer, then went in to see if I could add a second to intensify it.  Once it's dried on the lid, leave it be. Otherwise you'll end up with something like this!!
I have to say, I was a bit dubious to begin with because they are quite sparkly but.... I do like them.  I think in particular they will suit people who find glitter/powder pigments too difficult or messy to work with.  These liquid piments will add lots of glitz to your eye look in seconds and for that, they are quite unique.

The Liquid Eyeshadows were released into pharmacies nationwide last week. So far they are available online from the >Luna website<  >Meaghers Pharmacy< and >SamMcCauley< websites.

Today I'm here with an amazing dupe for you.  Some of you may have heard about the controversy surrounding ZPalette at the moment. (They recently launched a new product which received some critiqueing feedback from their customers which is when the brand lashed out by attacking their customers personal appearance, financial circumstances etc). A quick rundown is in this video >HERE< and >HERE<  Taking all of that into consideration, I'm happy to share a dupe of the ZPalette so that you don't need to give an unprofessional, rude company your support. I introduce to you, Molee Beauty.

Avon. I've spoken about them before and I'm a huge fan of some of their items including their SuperShock Mascara. Speaking of Supershock, Avon have launched 4 new limited edition shades to their gel eyeliner range for Spring Summer 2013. I have been using the Supershock gel eyeliners for the past couple of years and they are genuinely gorg. Really long lasting, mega smooth when applying and really pigmented. The new colours are

Last night I attended the >INGLOT< Blogger event in Limerick that was taking place to give us a sneak peek  into some of the new products coming out. I was delighted to receive a complementary goodie bag and of course being the INGLOT fangirl that I am, I also purchased some products on the night!
I took some snaps to share with you all so here we go!

So I was recently invited to the INGLOT Mid-Summer Madness Event in the Crescent Shopping Centre in Limerick. INGLOT is a brand I have raved about in the past and they continue to impress me. One thing that was happening at the event was the launch of the Colour Play Mascaras. Colour.... mascaras!!? Yep, breath, don't panic, it's not as scary as it sounds!

Ok so this post may be a bit dated seeing as though the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette has been available for quite some time now; but I still hear the question being asked "Do I need both palettes?" The answer? No, you don't need both palettes.... You might want both though!!! ;) I certainly did!

It is hard to decide between the two, but at a push, out of the two I seem to gravitate more towards the original palette. I have blueish eyes and love using warm tones to contrast and make them pop and the original palette mainly contains warm, golden brown tones.

So; if you’re a fan of URBAN DECAY you might have already heard the news. They have recently revamped their eye shadow line, including reformulating them to a softer, velvety texture, more dense and decadent colour, smoother blendability and they are now formulated to be longer lasting and to have more crease-free wear.

They have also added some new shades to the pack making it a total of 68 shades available. These include best-sellers, new shades and fan favourites previously only exclusive to certain palettes. Yay! These shadows come in a variety of finishes:

The exciting bit!!!
Something also very exciting is the new packaging. They have revamped the original design of the iconic subway token (did you know that’s what it was!!). I personally love the look of it but it’s not just a looker... it’s practical. Here’s the scoop.

The pans can now be popped from the pot!! Urban Decay are now selling customisable palettes so if you buy a single shadow all you have to do is pop it out of its pot and snap it into your palette.

01 October 2011

Hello there.

Today I'm going to review Avon's new Super Shock Max Mascara. Here are Avon's claims

"Avon's 1st ever mascara for up to 15x volume. Unique helix brush maximises formula pick-up to give lashes INTENSE volume. WEIGHTLESS FORMULA plumping fibres expand around lashes fro MAXIMUM drama."

I have to say I actually do agree with most of this. I'm always wary of claims including numbers so let's just ignore that 15x volume part! But everything else; yep, seems about right. As you can see it has indeed a "unique helix brush"

It does volumise as you will see below, as well as lengthen. I also agree that the formula is weightless. I was quite surprised at this to be honest! Because the brush is so large (see pic below for size comparison to my eye!) I was expecting for the brush to be overloaded with product - but it wasn't. On the lashes it is not at all heavy which is great. Also I didn't find it to feel too hard or crunchy on the lashes.

Now lets get onto the results. Here we go.

Naked Lashes
Left: 1 Coat                        Right: 0 Coats
I think one single coat is the one where volume increases.

Left: 2 Coats                    Right: 0 Coats
Here after the second coat you can see the lengthening aspect. As you can see on the inside corner of my left eye it seems to look a bit funny. This is partly the way my lashes are and partly because the brush is so big it's a bit harder to get into small places like here.

2 Coats
Up close, 2 coats look a bit spidery but below in the face shot you can see it's not so noticeable. I just like to get up in yo faces for photos!! One negative I have with the mascara is that no matter how careful I am, chances are I will end up tipping the brush off my eyelid (as you can see above to the right inner corner) Now I am fairly "handsey" when applying mascara. I like to twist, squiggly, zig zag and basically just get rightly in there. I am fairly careful though but I find it almost always happens. I think it's because of the size of the wand which is a bit annoying. Nothing a q-tip can't fix though!

2 Coats
2 Coats

Over all I am happy with this mascara. It adds both volume and length which is fairly rare in a mascara. The mostly noticeable thing about this mascara in my opinion is the way it feels so light yet has brilliant lengthening and separating power. I find the wand a tad too big though as I need to be more controlled with application.

Avon's Super Shock Max Mascara is priced at €13 full price but if you're interested in trying it out, make sure to keep an eye out for offers. That's one thing Avon are great for!! HERE is the latest catalogue (as pictured below, where the mascara is on offer for €7.50!)

If you need a rep to order from, want to view or request a brochure or want to become an Avon Representative (seller) yourself have a look HERE

It comes in two shades - Black or Brown/Black. (I tried black) It is hypoallergenic and opthalmologist-tested so it's great for those with sensitive eyes. Have you tried this baby!!? (I know, I have to stop saying things like that!!)
