So there I was, browsing around my local Lidl store taking advantage of its 50% off Fruit and vegetables (feeling the urge to get back to my juicing/shed a few pounds before Christmas!) when I spotted something in the personal care section that stopped me in my tracks!

I say the above in all my posts. I'm Irish and I like being so. I also love to try and support Irish brands which is why today I am excited to be reviewing an Irish scent. The product in question is from Inis. Now I have heard of Inis before. My mother has had a few of their products and if I'm being completely honest I thought it was more of a mature lady scent and not something I would necessarily go for. I was wrong.

Well, I did. I purchased her debut signature perfume Kim Kardashian by Kim Kardashian which is an Eau de Parfum. I have to say I took a massive chance and I bought it without even smelling. Sad I know, but I got it for a good price! I bought it from Littlewoods for a discounted price of €40 for 100mls. Here are the pics.
First impressions?? Good!! Loved the packaging, purple, which I adore, simple structured bottle, gorgeous font. Quite detailed too, as you can see below her name is engraved onto the metal:
Now for the smell. First impressions? Not great to be honest!! It was not at all what I was expecting. I could not stop sniffing it though! It was so different, so unique. If I'm being completly honest I was almost expecting it to be a typical sweet girly fragrance. It's not, quite the opposite in fact. I would describe it as a Womans perfume, not a young girls scent. It's definatley not sweet. It's more of a woody/musky floral. The scent that you initially get is quite strong (strangely I get a peppery sort of smell!) but it does settle on the skin beautifully. Here it is as described on her fragrance website:
"Discover the irresistible new fragrance by one of the world’s most idolized women. The essence evokes Kim’s sultry style with crisp top notes, lush mid notes and a sexy drydown. Gorgeous voluptuous florals reflect her allure, while soft jasmine, tuberose and gardenia mirror her femininity. Tonka bean, jacaranda wood and sandalwood base the fragrance with a warm sensual drydown. Experience glamour and luxury with Kim Kardashian."
The more specifics are here: Notes Top Note: Mandarin, Lemon Middle Note: Honeysuckle, Orange Blossom, Jasmine, Tuberose, Gardenia, Spices Base Note:Tonka Bean, Jacaranda Wood, Vanilla Orchid, Musk, Sandalwood
As I said, my first impression was not what I was expecting. It took me a while to make up my mind. Conclusion? I really really do like it! My first impression was not bad, it was more of a surprise! I love that it's not like anything else I own. Avril Lavignes perfume 'Forbidden Rose' which I blogged about before HERE does remind me of it slightly because that was so unusual also and like this, was not sweet and girly. It's more of a mature strong fragrance. I think people will either love or hate this perfume, which I am actually glad about. I'm sure Kim could have gone down the same route as Beyonce, Britney, Rihanna (in my opinion these are all massively similar - sweet and girly, although they are nice) but I'm glad she didn't.
It's obviously hard to say how much input she had with actually contributing to coming up with the fragrance, but she did seem to be speaking about it a lot in the production stages, constantly tweeting and blogging about scent testing and what was happening, keeping her fans up to date and asking for feedback on her website.

Of course there are different sizes including 100ml, 50ml, 30ml, 10ml, 3ml, body lotions, bodywash, bags, rollerballs etc!
Images from http://kkfragrance.com/
The last picture above was one of Kim's Fans designs which she handpicked along with help from other fans. It's a Limited Edition Kim Kardashian Breast Cancer Awareness Pink Ribbon Rollerball Fragrance. 10% of sales are donated to the Young Survival Coalition, founded in 1998 by three young breast cancer survivors. This is always great to see.
This perfume was her first and was released back in 2009. She now has two more, 'Love' (Limited Edition which was released for her wedding and sold out in 10 days)

and 'Gold'.
I'm wearing it right now and I cannot stop sniffing. Have you tried any of Kim Kardashians perfumes? Please let me know what you think or if you'd even be bothered to try it

Morning All!
So I just wanted to share this little bargain I picked up recently and here it is:
Now this is a Christian Audigier fragrance but the name of it is kind of confusing. Many of you might recognise this perfume as being Ed Hardy - this is neither the creator or name of the perfume. He's actually a tattoo artist by trade. Many clothing companies and brands have be formed based on his Japanese themed rock and roll style drawings and this was how Christian Audiger came into contact with him - by producing a clothing/perfume line based on his artwork. So I guess the line of perfumes are Ed Hardy - but as for the actual name of this perfume.... I'm still a bit puzzled!! The conclusion that I have have come to (by googling the crap out of it) is that it is called Ed Hardy for Women. Here's some close ups of what's in this gift set:
100ml of the Eau de Parfum
90ml each of Shimmering Body Lotion and Bath & Shower Gel
A little mini handbag sized Eau de Parfum - 7.5ml
I got my set in The Pefume Shop. I don't think they have an Irish website but here's the logo. You'll probably more than likey recognise it as they have stores nationwide.
As far as I can see 100mls of the perfume itself normally retails for between €55-€60/£50-£55. I have even seen it in Debenhams for over €60. I got this whole gift set for €35!! There was also a smaller set - perhaps it was 30mls for €18.
I was delighted with this purchase. I have to say though, that the perfume is not majorly long lasting but I do love the smell of it and am crazy for this type of packaging. What do you think!?

Hey there.
So recently I’ve been obsessing over perfumes. I don’t know what has come over me – I think it might be the weather improving slightly here in Ireland, and for some reason I associate summer and good weather with perfume – don’t ask me why!! Anyway, I called into my local chemist at lunchtime today and saw the new Beyoncé perfume.
Immediately I went over for a sniff. I own her first fragrance so was quite curious to see what her next one is like. The stand was nice looking, bright fresh yellow orange and gold colours but I was for some reason a bit disappointed that the bottle was the same as the previous one.
I then looked at the name and realised that it wasn’t just ‘Rush’ which I thought it was, it is called ‘Heat Rush’ so that explained that (the previous one is called ‘Heat’ so I took it as being a continuation of that one in a way.) So I got over that and got to the smelling!
First impression?....Meh! Wasn’t overly impressed. Nice enough like but nothing to write home about (sorry that's a kind of Irish thing!) I continued looking around the chemist and let the perfume settle onto my skin. I came back to work, sat down and started working. It was when I went to move my hair back from my face I got another whiff of it and..... it was lovely! Much much nicer than when I had smelt it straight away in the chemist.
If you have smelt her first fragrance, it’s definitely similar to it but I would say more fruity. It’s described as:
The only downside to this is that it’s an Eau de Toilette which means the scent may not linger on the skin for long – which I’d what I look for in a perfume. It’s 4.5 hours later now as I write this and the smell has almost completely left my skin. This is quite strange as the original ‘Heat’ was an Eau de Parfum – don’t know why that has changed (they are both around the same price range!) Other than that I have to say I’m liking it. Prices are as follows:
50ml Bottle = €33.95 (it's a few € cheaper on Debenhams online - €29.70)
30ml bottle = €25.95 (or €23.10 Debenhams)
Gold Shimmering Body Cream (200ml) claims to “hydrate your skin and leave a nice light veil of sparkles”. To be honest I wouldn't rely on that description too much if it’s anything like the original ‘Heat’ body lotion that was basically NOT shimmery at all!! But of course it is nice to rub on your skin before you spritz on your perfume to make it last longer. At the moment you get a free gold/bronze clutch if you buy one of the perfumes
Have you smelt this perfume? What did you think?

Really loving this at the moment, but I know for a fact wouldn't be to everyones taste. It's from Avon and it's called 'Laugh Often' by Reese Witherspoon. It's described as "a joyful fragrance with bright citrus and playful florals". Quite unusual and not particularly overly feminine - which I like! It's on sale for €15.50 at the moment :)
Hope you had a lovely day too :)

I NEED to talk about this next product! It is thee handiest thing for perfume lovers. It’s called the Travalo.
It’s basically a little refillable perfume atomiser – meaning that you can insert any perfume into this little container and throw it into your bag instead of hauling around a heavy and breakable perfume bottle – also ideal for when you’re travelling by plane to avoid all that liquid limit pain in the ass! It’s roughly the size of a lipstick and when filled it contains on average about 50 sprays. It’s really easy to do and is spill/mess free! Below is how I filled mine.
Place the tube of the perfume bottle into this little hole and pump up and down until it’s as full as you desire. There’s a handy little fill indicator on the clear part for you to see.
Simples!
It comes in a variety of colours including silver, gold, pink, black and red. I got mine in a Unicare Pharmacy. I haven't seen them available in Ireland anywhere else apart from there or alternatively you could order one from EBay. The Travalo website doesn’t seem to ship to Ireland. They can to the UK via another crowd who only ship within the UK....bummer. So if you’re lucky to spy one of these I highly recommend picked up a few for your fav perfumes!

1) I like the name – pretty yet daring!
2) I like Avril Lavigne – her music anyway!
3) I loved the colour - Purpleish/blueish/blackish/silverish - my fav colours!
4) I like the perfume too!
So all in all I like. It’s like nothing I’ve ever smelt before. It’s described on her website as;
"Forbidden Rose is a sparkling fusion of fruity, floral and woody notes that blend together to create a spirited composition. With its hints of both fantasy and fearlessness, Forbidden Rose comes to life, like a fairytale. The fragrance opens with the forbidden fruit itself – the ever-enchanting red apple, enhanced by delicious wine peach. The story then unfolds with notes of white lotus, adding pureness and beauty. The base of the fragrance shines through, exuding warmth through its vanilla and sweet praline accents. A deep woody undertone finally emerges, completing Forbidden Rose’s captivating tale."
Now to me it is not Fruity.... in the slightest. Floral? Yes kinda, in a weird way. It’s not a fresh flowery type of smell. Floral and woody notes blended is quite a good description. It’s actually almost a more masculine scent. Don’t get me wrong it is feminine but it’s not girly. Am I making a complete balls of this!!? Haha! If you happen to see it try n get a sniff and you’ll know what I’m talking about. It’s very unusual and I think it’s a love or hate type of perfume. And I do love it because it’s so different.
So the set I picked up was €25 before Christmas but I’ve recently seen the same set for sale in Debenhams for €16.66 (on the website also – here’s the link click HERE for the link.or HERE to get it for €18.20 online) You get 30mls of the eau de parfum, a 50ml body lotion and a little faux leather clutch. The inside of it is beautifully silky purple! (Like an eejet I never took a pic but I’m sure you can Google it!) Ooooh and also you may not notice but just below the black rose lid is a silver ring (a barbed wire design). I snapped some pics of mine below. Apologies, the lighting isn't that great.
