Dia daoibh!

Are you a bit of a couch potato!!? Want to win something that may aid you in losing weight and gaining energy!? Well if you read my post below I'll let you be in with a chance!! ;)

Some of you may know from my tweetings, that I have joined the gym. I have been eating slightly healthier than I normally do and I do want to lose some weight. My weight slightly fluctuates quite regularly as I tend to get into a health and fitness mind-frame every now and again. I want to get to a weight that I am comfortable with and proud of, but have not reached that point as of yet. I feel I need an extra kick.

I was recently introduced to Slender Dream; the Slim & Go food supplements in particular. Now, I am quite iffy about these type of products purely because there are so many different companies that all claim to do the same things. I don't know which to go for so I just don't bother. When I read up about Slim & Go it caught my attention, not just because it claims to aid in weight loss, but because of it's energy boosting claims. I looked up the ingredients on the WEBSITE and came across words such as 'Guarana' which I knew had something to do with caffeine. I also saw the words 'Green Tea' which I am a massive fan of and also 'Pomegranate'. There were also another few ingredients that I had never heard of before such as 'Chitosan' and 'Yerba Mate'. It would take a while to try to explain what all of these natural ingredients are good for, so if you're interested, feel free to visit the website, but basically these are five of nature's most powerful, proven fat burning ingredients!
Five of nature's most powerful, proven fat binding & fat burning ingredients; chitosan, pomegranate, green tea, yerba mate and guarana.
The fact that this product contains natural ingredients, has the added bonus of an energy boost and is simple to "do" massively appeals to me. As I am eating healthier and am getting exercise I think it's definitely worth a shot as my "extra kick!". If you are interested I might even keep track of how I get on via my blog? Would that be of interest to you?

Dia daoibh!

I have a question for you? Celebrity product endorsements; what are your thoughts? I was just scrolling through my Facebook and saw a picture of the Irish wan who was in Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model posing with a box of Whizzer Strips (*cough.... which I reviewed here btw!!!) with the caption "The beautiful Hannah Devane is a fan of Whizzer!". Immediately my mind spoke.... "Ya, more like she's a fan of being paid to SAY she's a fan!!". Is that terrible!? Maybe Hannah Devane is in fact a fan of the product, but my first reaction was that it's just for publicity! I scrolled through and saw that a few more models were snapped posing, holding the box of Whizzers. Does that really make people want to buy something these days!!? I completly understand the company's reasoning that it will attract attention but what I'm wondering is do people buy products just because of the face of someone who is pictured with it!!?

I laughed out (quite loudly) in the pub once after a Man Utd game when Rooney was obviously quite deliberatly handed a bottle of Lucozade Sport the second the full-time whistle was blown.... and I mean THE SECOND! Watch out for it if you happen to see a Man Utd game, or any other soccer or indeed sporting event. More than likely you will see someone being handed a bottle of something and I can tell you something; it's not just because they're thirsty!! It's quite amusing!!

But seriously!! It's so hard to comprehend how that actually works and makes money!! For children and teenagers it's a completly different story all together but are adults as gulliable!? It's all publicity for the company to spread the pictures of  a celeb with their products (be it product placement or genuine) I understand, but it's not necessarily advertising.... if you get me. I understand how money is made from tv adverts of Cheryl Cole bouncing her hair around the place, or Jennifer Lopez looking sultry and fluttering her sexy (false) lashes, but I'm interested to know if many people buy something just because they have seen a celeb actually eating/drinking/using a product!!?

I touched on Photoshop and more a less false advertising in this post (which is when I started blogging! You may be interested if you like this post :)

Dia daoibh!

So, it's 2012. That's different. The main topic of conversation this week is "New Year's Resolutions". I don't have any. Everyone is tweeting and blogging about how they plan to change their life for the better; not me. I just don't feel the urge to this year for some reason. 2011 wasn't a great year for me really. There were many losses of friends and people my own age within the last 4-5 months of the year which hugely shocked everyone and often had me reflecting on my own life. I was out for New Years Even this year and when the clock struck 12 I was overwhelmed with emotion and burst into tears while James gave me the midnight kiss. Instead of the future I was a bit stuck thinking about the past. I've explained before that I am a thinker and this will never change. That's what spurred me to write this slightly angered post entitled "Is your life THAT bad?"

Instead of making a "resolution" I'm just going to take life day by day. Perhaps make do-able daily resolutions; like today I want to smile more, today I want to clear out my room, today I'm going to organise my diary; rather that making one huge, often generic "plan". I figure it will be much more possible to do more things day by day, plus I've less of a chance of "failing" (lots of inverted commas in this post eh!!?). I suppose I'm contradicting myself by saying I don't have a New Years Resolution because basically I do and it's to not have one/take life day by day!

I hope you all had a peaceful enjoyable Christmas and New Years and are looking forward to a fresh start for this year :)
