Dia daoibh!
Hope you all had a lovely May Bank Holiday Weekend. I did, and I just wanted to share some pics with you all. I spent some of my weekend in the company of some fellow Irish You Tubers and bloggers ie. people who I now consider friends. We planned to meet and spend some time together in Cork City. I stayed in Lancaster Lodge with Adoreabubbles - Sarah.

After speedily prancing around the shops, Sarah and I got ready for the night ahead. SoHo (where we all planned to eat, drink and be merry) was a five minute walk from our hotel so Sarah and I decided to walk it

Dia daoibh.

Saturday 17th December was the day. I was heading for Dublin to meet the girls. "The girls" being some other bloggers and vloggers. We had been arranging it for a while and I was so excited to go. On the day, not everyone was able to attend though, sickness and life in general had caught up with a lot of people! The previous day though, I myself felt crap. I was getting sick, I could feel it. As I posted on my FACEBOOK I dosed up on Uniflu, antihistamines, washed and sanitized my hands constantly, bought good tissues (yano, the proper more expensive brand with the balm on it!!) put the heating on, hopped in bed, watched tele and felt sorry for myself until I woke up the next morning, thank god feeling ok-ish!

Basically HERE'S what I decided to wear, but black jeggings, along with two pairs of socks, thick scarf and warm coat!

I travelled by train. Unfortunately I was alone as the other Cork girls Sinead and Treena were sick and couldn't make it and something also came up for Jen. It was ok though, at least I had met them before! I arrived in Heuston, a bit scared as usual, as I'm not used to Dublin. I wandered around for a little while and then met some of the other Cork girls. Sarah, Leslie and Milli off the bus. We then headed for  Salamanca Tapas Bar and Restaurant on Dame Street to meet up with everyone else. Here's what I got

Chilli beef strips with egg noodles and spinach            and raspberry cheese cake.

The food was delish! I got this along with tea/coffee for €10. Our waiter was a bit strange though. There were a few simple requests from some of the girls, for usual dishes without tomatoes/mushrooms/spinach and they were all given sarcastic puzzled looks and grunts. Or for instance Leanne, asked for a dish but to leave out the meat (because she's vegetarian) and she was abruptly told that "there will be no flavour" along with an extremely confused and persistent face. Leanne was just like "well I'm vegetarian so....." and his response was a careless shrug and a "whatever you think". We all looked at eachother puzzled. What was his deal!? Surely if someone doesn't like something they can asked for it to be left out without being scolded. This put a bit of a dampner on our visit to Salamanca, but whatevs.... we had more business to attend to! Here are some pics of us at the restaurant.

After lunch we hit Dublin City. We headed to Jervis to visit INGLOT  (one of my favs!) where we met Jane (who I had met before) who gifted all of us with a variety of goods! I got a nail varnish, nail file and also a complementary makeover voucher, a long with a lipstick I purchased myself.

We were all delighted and so happy to accept the gifts and it brightened up our day. We walked around the centre and city wandering in and out of shops. I wanted to try out MAC Face & Body Foundation which can only be bought in Dublin, so I made it my business to head for Brown Thomas! I seeked help in Aoife as to how to get there (I was clueless) and we all ended up going together. I also bought the highly rated Mineralize Skin Finish Natural.

The city was mega jammed, especially Grafton Street. We wanted to sit and talk and actually spend time together so Julie suggested cocktails! Hell to the Ya!! Off we went to Dandelion, a beautiful Bar and Bistro with a club downstairs. We got us some drinkies!! It was great to sit down and have some chats and laughs with others with the same interestes and understandings of blogging. Gradually the group got smaller as everyone had to catch transport home. Nina, Paula, Sarah and I headed for Butlers to get a coffee. I actually got an Iced Frappe (and it freezing outside!!) I felt like a weirdo drinking a frozen drink until I was outdone by Sarah who bought an ice cream!!!

Here's everyone who came along (alphabetically with pics-took about a year and a half to do this!)

Dia daoibh!

So this is a well over due post!! Just over 2 weeks ago I had some fun in Cork City. I attended the 'Real Capital' (d'ya hear that Dublin!!) book signing of the brand new Beaut.ie book 'Gorgeous To Go' by Aisling McDermott. This is the second book from Aisling - click HERE to have a look at both of them! It's available from the usual book outlets nationwide for €12.99.

I met up with Sinead TheMakeUpChair on Youtube and blogger HERE and Sarah who's blog is HERE. We were lucky enough to be included in the first 50 in-store for the signing so we were given a goodie bag each!! Noice!! Here are some piccys!!

That was fun but we had more plans to be getting too! We went for coffee (a latte, hot chocolates and brownies to be specific!) "Riiiing Riiiiiing"!! Sinead's sister Treena was on her way. Treena is also a YouTube laydee, her channel is HERE

"Riiiiiing Riiiiing"!! My phone went off. It was Katie (KatieElisabeth21 on YouTube or blogger HERE) The girls went off to meet Treena and I stayed put to wait for Katie.

We all came back together then and had some chats before heading off to meet Jen (jenmurphyxx8 on YouTube) We spent the rest of the day having chats, coffee, playing games, had lunch and went shopping!! Both Sinead and Jen vlogged so you can have a look at their videos below if you like, along with some pics

It really was such a lovely day; completely laid back and chilled. It's always nice to speak to other girls who have some of the same interests I have :) Until next time!!

19 March 2011

Hello All!
OK so this post is a bit overdue - 12 days to be exact. A few of us gals (Bloggers and Vloggers) organised to all meet up in Dublin on Sunday 6th March. I have to say it was a success. We all threw around dates about a month beforehand so that the date would suit everybody - Julie must have been tormented with emails as she seemed to be the go-to-girl for the dates! Anyhow, between us all (us all meaning Aoife     Julie     Kate     Katie     Louise     Sandra     Sarah) we sorted it out. I was happy to have a few weeks to plan and save as I happened to be broke at the time we were arranging it and I had to make sure someone was around to have my small man while I was away for the day! So I booked a train ticket and off I went.

Along the way I had a train meet up with Katie and we clicked straight away - which I was so happy about. It could have been quite daunting getting on a train to sit beside someone I had never met in person before, but from the minute we sat down beside each other we had something to talk about. Fair enough a lot of it was about You Tube and Blogging but to be honest it was completely refreshing to be able to speak to someone who has the same love for it that I do. We should have taken a picture of ourselves on the train but obvs we were too busy chatting!! :)

We reached Dublin and waited for Sarah. She seemed to know her way about a bit more than the two of us eejets who didn't know WHERE we were going!! So we walked out of Heuston Station and got our Luas tickets - which also proved to confuse me, but anyhows!! We waited....and waited...... next thing BAM.....an announcement came over the microphone that there had been unforeseen circumstances and that the service had to be cancelled for the rest of the day. TYP....ical. I actually said out loud "knowing our luck someones after being shot or something!"..... As it happened, the next day we found out that two fellas had indeed been shot at the Smithfield Horse Market which was just 2.5kms away from where we were. All very dramatic but anyway we didn't know all of this at the time, so we happily hopped on the majorly overcrowded double decker bus until Sarah told us to hop off!!

We walked to the Spire where we had all arranged to meet up. We were checking our messages and tweets on the way and we were getting more and more excited the nearer we got! It was a bit surreal seeing everyone in person after watching them for so long on You Tube and reading their blogs. We all greeted each other and glanced each other up and down (in a nice way!) First stop we made was to Forever 21. Now this place is huge!! 3 floors of clothes, shoes, accessories, jewellery etc. It was actually hard to shop in there as it was so massive. Throughout the day we walked along and took turns without realizing to talk to each other. Calling into Brown Thomas was a lovely experience for me as I usually go there on my own at home and it was exciting to hear all the girls sharing their experiences and advice on various products.

For lunch we stopped off at The Calzone Cafe under the recommendation of Julie. Again this was a lovely part of the day as we got to sit down with each-other and have some proper chats one on one! The food, might I add was an-mhaith!! Delish actually!! We snapped some pics there (well the girls did, I hadn't a camera at the time so I've robbed these photos off Julie, Louise and Kate!)

After our lunch we wandered and chatted some more around Dublin City. Being in Dublin itself was so exciting for me as I had only been there a couple of times. Aoife found this quite hilarious that I was in such awe of the place!! I probably did have a bit of a touristy head up on me but I was really happy to be there with the girls. We have all gotten very friendly in the months that we have known each other and it was  great to experience their physical company rather than their cyber company!!

Right that was it...... the legs were walked off us, so we decided that a trip to Starbucks was necessary! It was Louise's first time in the coffee shop and she was so excited looking at the menu and all the cakes and goodies at the counter. "Oh my god Laura what do I get!!?" She ended up getting a hot chocolate with cream which looked delish. I got a...... something something mocha something grande..... GORG! We took some more photos here!

Again we had some more chats and gossip. At this stage I think we were all feeling it. We had been walking and shopping all day so it was nice to sit down for the last hour.

(How class is it that coincidentally me and Aoife both wore black leather jackets, black pants and black and white horizontally striped tops.... we both had our hair down and both had brown handbags..... not to mention out matching Chanel bags from BT!!!)

I have to say I really had a fab day. It was a pleasure to meet all these girls and they all deserve good things for their You Tube and Blogs. Please check them all out and let them know if you like their work! Until we meet again ladies!.......
