Bourjois Air Mat Foundation Review

Dia daoibh!

So today I'm letting you know my thoughts on Bourjois's latest foundation release - Air Mat.  As the name suggests, this is claimed to be a matte foundation with an air light finish.

Bourjois themselves describe it as being "specially developed to give skin a smooth, matte finish that lasts for up to 24 hours. Its non drying, lightweight formula lets skin breathe throughout the day and provides high coverage for a flawless finish. Enriched with mattifying micronized powders, it elimates shine with no mask effect for an undetectable result."
While I do agree it feels lightweight, don't let that fool you.  This foundation is definitely on the fuller side of medium.  As you can see from the below pictures, it disguised most of, if not all, freckles and redness on my skin.  I had a breakout on my chin on this particular day and it covered the spots fantastically.  I did however notice that it clung, slightly dryly, to the blemish areas so I would recommend using a primer over problematic areas for a smoother application.
Shade wise, I am wearing the lightest shade available, 01 Ivory Rose,  It does wear slightly yellow on my skin though which I didn't expect from the shade name!  It's not too noticeable however when the rest of my makeup is applied, plus the yellow tone tends to disguise redness well.  It'd didn't tend to oxidise too much on the skin either which is a plus.  There is a grand total of 5 (7 in some stores) shades available, which is quite disappointing from Bourjois, but fingers crossed one of the 5 will suit you if you're interested!
Overall I really really liked this foundation.  I didn't test it for the full 24 hours but it certainly lasted beyond a good 8 hour working day, which is what most people look for. It also kept shine at bay for the entire day and only creased slightly by my nose where I tend to be oiliest.

As this is a matte foundation, I would recommend it to people with normal to oily skin.  If you have dry skin I wouldn't necessarily recommend it to you as it can tend to cling to dry patches.  It's priced at a reasonable €13.99 and is available from chemists nationwide.  FYI as today is Friday I found somewhere it's on offer.  Feel Unique have it on sale >HERE< for €9.95!!
