St. Tropez Wash Off Instant Glow Mousse Review

Dia daoibh!

I've never tried a St. Tropez product before. There; I said it..... Tanning fans around the world may gasp in shock* (*sarcasm) but if I'm being honest I'm not a major tanner. I will apply it for occasions and the odd night out but other that that I'm not bothered. Today I'm going to review the St. Tropez Wash Off Instant Glow. Because it's such a hyped brand when it comes to fake tanning I was quite excited to give it a go.

St. Tropez themselves say
- "This ultra light-weight, velvety mousse delivers an exceptionally smooth, instant, golden glow. Simply sweep onto your body using an Applicator Mitt for a gorgeous glow."

On the bottle itself though it didn't say to use a mitt so I chanced using just my bare hands out of curiosity. Hence, the following!!...

First impressions of the mousse itself was "wow, that looks mega dirty!!" As you can see below, the mousse it not appealing to the eye but is it appealing on the skin? Because it's an instant tan you can see where it has been applied or if you have missed any bits - great for a tanning newb. The very light and airy mousse glides onto the skin with ease and dries quickly. As it sunk into my skin it still looked a little muddy which made me panic slightly. When it's blended properly though, it smoothens out to a natural tan colour.

Some (St. Tropez included!) describe the colour as "golden". I wouldn't, not in the slightest. To me it's just a brown tan! It has a matte finish so if you're not fond of sparkle in a tan this might be a good one to try out. It has more of a green undertone so this tackles and avoids the "orangey tan" look.

Left: No tan V Right: 2 Layers of St. Tropez Wash Off Instant Glow Mousse.
If you are a dedicated heavy tanner, I'm not sure that this would impress. For most, I think the colour will be too subtle. Pictured above is 2 layers of the tan versus no tan. It is quite subtle in comparison to other fake tans so it will depend on what you're looking for as to whether or not this is for you.

The pros of this tan are that it's easy and quick to apply. It doesn't have that typical biscuity smell and most importantly......it's not orange!! There are no real negatives but at the same time I just wasn't blow away by the product. It's priced at €20.29 (or for €16.90 incl. delivery from >FEELUNIQUE<)- I'm not sure it's worth that price tag, but in saying that it did look very natural and washed off with ease also. I'm a bit 50/50 on it but it did do the job.

Have you tried this, or any other St. Tropez products before? Am I missing out on the wonder product!!?

Slán!
