L'Oreal Paris Préférence Wild Ombrés

Dia daoibh.

One of the newest and most exciting hair colourant products in my opinion is on shelves now.  L'Oreal Paris Préférence Wild Ombrés  is "the first ever mass market dip dye". In the past 2-3 years in particular Ombré and Balayage have been huge. I myself have dabbled and am still rocking the two toned style. In the past it has been possible to DIY it at home using bleach/peroxide products. I'm aware that these two word scare the life out of people so I therefore believe that L'Oreal have made a great move at producing this product.

The pack which includes lightening cream technology (2 creams & powder which are mixed together to form the paste that you apply) along with a special toothed applicator brush, gloves, conditioning shampoo and an instruction booklet is priced at €12.19 in Ireland or £6.99 in the UK.

You simply apply the mixture to the special toothed comb and brush through the bottom half of your hair (the norm is from the ear/chin down but really you can begin wherever you want.) It is then recommended to be left in for between 25-45 minutes depending on how light you want to go.

There are 3 shades available
No.1 for Light Brown to Dark Brown Hair
No.2 for Dark Blonde to Medium Brown Hair
No.3 for Blonde to Dark Blonde Hair
(although there is a 4th available No. 4  for blonde hair in some locations - As shown on the German website)

I haven't tried this myself, however I have seen some results and most reviews so far are positive. I would be wary however that this is not a miracle product and you would still have to be careful about the placement of the cream on the hair in order to achieve that gradient effect. The more you comb, the more it will blend so don't just lash it on, take your time.

Below is a video with L'Oreal Colour Expert Christophe Robin showing us how it's done.

Have you been sucked in by the Ombré craze!?
