Summer Scents for 2012

Dia daoibh!

I was recently sent some new Summer scents to try out and oh boy was I happy about that. I have quite a broad taste when it comes to perfume so I'm always happy to give some new ones a try. Here we go with some new scents for Summer 2012.

Beyoncé Pulse Summer Edition
Up first is a new one from Beyoncé. It's Beyoncé Pulse Summer Edition. It's an Eau de Parfum which was
“Inspired by Beyonce’s infectious positive energy, this limited edition fragrance seduces the senses with the same invigorating sensuality as the original Pulse Eau de Parfum"
Some scents worth noting included in this scent are Pear, Icy Mandarin, Pink Pepper, Jasmine and Orange flowers, along with some less sweet ones such as Sapphire woods and musks. This smells gorg. It is a girly girl smell, which I would describe as a clean fruity smell. It's not the longest lasting EDP I have tried though, but does last a good 4-5 hours. Packaging as you can see is completely unique (apart from it being the same as the original Pulse!!) and quite futuristic looking.
Quite reasonably priced at: 50ml EDP €19.95

Guess Seductive Sunkissed
Next is Guess Seductive Sunkissed which is described as follows,
"a refreshing summer-worthy scent that perfectly captures the fun and carefree spirit of summer"
Love the smell of this but..... lasting power disappoints to say the least. I applied this at 8:30am and by 10:30-11am it was more a less gone. Very disappointing. It's lasts a bit longer if sprayed on your clothes rather the skin but I was quite unimpressed with how short a time it lingered. Such as shame though because the actual smell is a winner, as is the packaging! Do you see that little dangling lipstick!!? The main scent I get from this is a berry raspberry smell. Also packed in is pear, pink grapefruit, raspberry, black currant blossom, jasmine, orchid, vanilla, violet, musk and Macassar ebony. Similar to the Beyoncé one in that it is nicely sweet and clean smelling. This is limited edition though, so if you're a Guess fan, whip it up while you can.
50ml EDT €29.99

Now in fairness, I am a lady so find men's scents a tad more difficult to describe, but one thing I can say is that James my boyfriend liked the following! For reference, other scents he likes are Joop (which I hate), Boss Bottled by Hugo Boss and Hugo Boss Hugo

Guess Seductive Homme

Guess Seductive Homme  is described as having

"An Oriental, Woody Fougère fragrance, irresistibly sensual and manly. Spicy notes, featuring a combination of Cardamom, Mandarin Pulp and Pink Pepper, toned down by Vanilla Orchid, Violet Leaves and Vetiver, give this fragrance an elegant balance between spirited and sensual."

Main point, James likes it and has been wearing it every day since he's had it. I have to say the packaging of this is very nice indeed. Very clean and sleek looking and the lid is actually magnetised - nifty eh!?

Seductive Homme retails at €32.95 for 50 ml with a free 200 ml shower gel worth €18
or
€24.95 for 30 ml with a free deodorant body spray worth €18.

David Beckham Instinct Sport

Ah..... David Beckham. I'm a fan and to be fair so is James. Of his fragrances at least! This new one, David Beckham Instinct Sport  is quite a masculine scent and a bit heavier than his previous fragrances. Again, the cap on this is magnetised. This one is described as

"The perfect expression of active elegance...Dynamic, modern, impulsive, energetic". "It contains top notes of ginger ale and mandarin, middle notes of ozone and violet leaves with its base notes being cashmere, patchouli and sandalwood."

Instinct Sport EDP is currently available for an introductory price of €19.99.

I also felt the next image was necessary; huuuuba!!

I mentioned the two women's fragrances in my lastest video below if you would like to see them "in person"
